FAQ

When do we get our order? Orders are accepted year round but we don’t butcher until October. We will contact you two weeks ahead of time to arrange a pick up location and time.

Not sure I want to buy now, can I order later in the year? As we are raising a limited number of livestock, we operate on a first come first served basis. This means that putting in a deposit now guarantees you that come the fall, your freezer will be stocked with delicious pastured raised meat.

Why the deposit? By placing your deposit early in the year, it supports us in caring for our animals and offers financial stability. To guarantee our product and to help distribute payment for our customers we require a deposit to hold your order.

How much more will the final order be? We are unable to give to exact numbers, as the weight of each animal will differ. However,  we are aiming for our pigs to be 200-250pds, and our cattle to be 600-700 pds hanging weight. Our price for pork is $4.25/lb, and our price for beef is $5.50/lb. All prices are based on the hanging weight of the animal. We will let you know how much is owed after we get the weights of the animals and subtract your deposit.

What is the hanging weight?  Hanging weight is the weight of the animal after it has been processed by the abbattoir, but before it is butchered. Although the final weight will be less than this hanging weight, the abbattoir will provide much of the bones for stocks & soups as well as the fat if requested.

If I change my mind, can I get a refund? This deposit is transferable but non-refundable. Meaning if you decide against stocking up your freezer with local pasture-raised meat, you can get a friend or aquaintance to buy you out. As a disclaimer, our bacon is really really delicious.

When do I pay the final payment? Final payment is due before pick up.
